Grayson pierces wooden panels with nails and screws after which he lays them in the open air so that the forces of nature further affect the panel. Thus this becomes a depiction of physical violence, a rape as it were, inspired by action painters such as Lucio Fontana (knife paintings), Yves Klein (fire paintings) and Pollock (drippings). But equally an evocation of a refreshing downpour.
