One of Belgium’s most celebrated photographers, Stephan Vanfleteren began his career in the press and journalism industry in the 1990s, where he fostered an astute and investigative approach to capturing prevalent issues within contemporary society around the world. Today, he is predominantly known for his piercing and profound portraits, and yet his landscape works are equally evocative, demonstrative of the depth and breadth of his inimitable practice. The three present oceanic works conjure an eerie, bleak serenity that permeates the monochromatic compositions and captures the beauty and the power of the North Sea.

Vanfleteren lives and works in Veurne, Belgium. His acclaimed career has garnered multiple awards and publications to his name, and he has also exhibited extensively throughout Europe, including Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, London, Liverpool and Verona.
