Vortice

  • Medium: picture
  • Size: 110 x 200 cm

“Vortices” was inspired by the Great Pacific Garbage Vortex, a vast accumulation of marine debris that either floats on the water or remains just below the surface. The floating blob of plastics approaches the size of the European continent. It is a floating landfill, the largest on Earth. Not only will this garbage remain where it is for the foreseeable future, but it is also growing at an alarming rate, fueled by the global production of plastic objects. The Great Pacific Garbage Vortex is an environmental tragedy that is only now becoming known.
