Through an abstract drawing, the map, he can consider a larger area than is physically possible.These maps give us a view on the sky, both from the south and from the north pole. Abstract sciences like mathematics and geometry enable humans to map even areas where they cannot physically reach.The collage elements applied to the maps suggest perspec-tive. Perspective is another human invention to suggest space and place on the flat surface. These works explore man’s contradictory fascination with representing space and place on the flat surface.
